Beech leaf jewellery |
This collection was inspired by a request from the management of Burnham Beeches for some leaf brooches. The basic leaf is pressed out from an original master made of brass. Having made the brooch, I felt the basic unit had the potential for other jewellery items. I have made these from fine silver, but now use an anti-tarnish sterling silver.

The beech leaf brooch |
This has a stainless steel pin for strength and comes with a pin protector for additional security. |
Large beech leaf necklace |
Five leaves tip to toe with a bar and loop fastening for the chain. |
Small beech leaf pendant |
A simple pendant, probably best suited to a fine trace chain. |
Beech leaf earrings |
Each leaf is pressed and cut by hand and so, like nature, they are all slightly different. |
Gold leaf beech leaf |
This example uses the Keum Boo technique to add a gold layer to the fine silver before it is formed into the leaf. The layer has been removed to expose the silver for the veins. This element could be used in any of the above items, especialy perhaps one or three in the necklace would look good.
There are many other examples of brooches, earrings and necklaces elsewhere.
