A smart black walking stick with a silver handle looked incomplete without a silver ferrule. This has a thick dimpled base though, as the stick is for special occasions, I don't anticipate a great deal of wear.
Walking cane ferrule cover -practical
This ferrule is different. It is actually a cover over a standard rubber foot and is therefore more practical. The rubber foot can easily be replaced when it wears low.
Walking stick head mount
The glass head on the cane had a crude copper brass mount. This is now sleeved by silver and looks far more elegant. The foot of the cane has the ferrule cover immediately above.
Another walking cane cover - on a cane with some history!
A client in South California commissioned me to make a ferrule for late 1800's Mississippi Riverboat gambler’s cane.
The pictures show the cover just before I sent it and my client's pictures of the cover installed and the head of the cane. He's written more about it on my blog here
