Necklace and bracelet with peridot, moonstone and rock crystal stones
peridot necklace

peridot bracelet
This necklace was made to the client's design, which was approximated in the bracelet.  The recipient has a small wrist and it wasn't possible to repeat the design exactly.  The peridot, moonstone and rock crystal stones were specially cut for the job. The stones are birthstones of the closest members of her family.  Each also has a lobster cast for ease of use and a length of large link chain which allows the necklace height on the neck to be varied and for flexibility round the wrist.

The turtle set

Turtle set - bracelets, boxes and cufflinks commissioned for a wedding on a beach where turtles lay their eggs
This set was for a wedding and consists of bracelets for the bridesmaids, boxes for the mothers and cufflinks for the bridegroom. The design incorporates the lilac colour of the bridesmaids' dresses and the turtles which lay their eggs on the beach where the wedding was held.

Labyrinth set

labyrinth earrings

Labyrith pendant
Labyrinth cufflinks
This set has been made to celebrate the new floor in St Michael's Church in Abingdon which includes a tiled labyrinth. All pieces are etched from the same pattern. Other items from the labyrinth set

The anniversary set

Jemma set
This set has its origins in some bracelets I made a while ago, but they were quite chunky. This bracelet is made from half round rather than round and so is much lighter. The basic theme of the bracelet has then been carried on to a necklet and earrings (studs by request).

Laura's set

Laura's set

This set, commissioned to be given to celebrate Laura's graduation had one fault - the necklace was too long - but that was easily fixed! The embossed design is formed by rolling coarse fibreglass mat on to silver sheet. The visual effect will develop with time as the silver tarnish remains in the finer crevices and gives a black silver contrast.

Rhyolite set

Rhyolite neclet and bracelet
A dramatic stone with a close fitting twisted wire neckpiece, shaped to lie comfortably on the neck. A matching bracelet where the silver wire, matching the necklace, forms a cage for two rhyolite spheres - distinctive!

Loop pendant and earrings

Matching set of earrings and pendant (loop design with square wire)

Matching set of earrings and pendant (loop design with twisted wire)
A simple design showing variation in size and texture. The wire can also be suspended from the opposite loop making it look vaguely like a cross or anhk.

Textured round pendant and earrings

Textured round pendant and earrings set
A development from an earlier earring design.  Satin finished

Ammonite earrings and ring

Ammonite earrings and ring
These ammonite slices were bought speculatively by the customer and I was approached to mount them as earrings and a ring. The mounting is a fairly straightforward claw setting, trying to keep the earrings as light as possible.

Carborundum pendant and ring

Carorundum pendant Carorundum ring
I purchased a lump of carborundum from a shop on Mount Etna in Sicily. It has a beautiful iridescence weakly captured in these photos. The mounts are cast in situ around the mineral as it can stand the temperature of the molten silver.

Joyce's set

Fetter link earrings
fetter link chain
Fetter link bracelet
This project started with a cuttlefish casting demonstration of a belt buckle only this one didn't cast fully as the centre bar was incomplete. I then remembered a garnet ring I'd made years ago that was not worn so I reused the stone and setting. It needed a distinctive and solid chain, so I found a recipe for this fetter and three link curb chain. On request, the pendant was made separable from the chain so it could be worn in its own, but then "a bracelet would be nice" and so why not the earrings to match?
